INTRODUCTION
Follow these steps to help you research information for your project. You must do the activity one step at the time.
STEP 1 TASK DEFINITION
A. Defined Problem/Background
These past few days my family has been talking about one of my cousins who can see spirits. When I think about it again, I actually know a lot of people around me who can see spirits. Knowing that, it got into my mind a question that I can't even answer for myself. How should I, as a Christian, think about this ability? This question came up to my mind because there are a lot of disagreements between what my religion teaches and what the ability proves (e.g. according to my religion once someone's dead, their soul should go up to heaven, while this ability proves that there are souls living between us and sometimes those souls look like the dead people we know). Having this controversial question in mind, I decided to make it as my Personal Project topic, as knowing the answer to this is of great importance for my spiritual life too.
B. Goal:
My goal is to increase my understanding about the behaviour and ethics Christianity Bethel has towards a specific ability of 6th sense (comment: Based on Bathel Christianity point of view (Church point of view) (Please see your 3rd question)), and to compile all the information I get through the media of digital journal.
C. What are your inquiry questions? What kinds of information are you looking for? (comment: The arrangement of the questions (No3 (fix it), 2, 1))
1. How am I going to present the data I got from the research through the media of journal?
a. What is a journal?
b. What are the specifications of a good (comment: Make it specific.) journal?
c. How do you arrange your journal?
d. What skills are needed to be able to make a good (comment: The word good is too general. You should use the specific one. Ex. Organize/ systematical, etc (choose the appropriate one)) journal?
e. What skills do I have?
f. What compatible software is there for me to journal digitally?
2. What is 6th sense?
a. What is the definition of 6th sense?
b. What are the categories of 6th sense?
c. What is the uniqueness of each category?
d. How do the abilities affect the lives of the people having it?
e. How are the people having the abilities different from the ones that don’t?
f. How some people get it?
3. How should Christians view and act towards the ability of 6th sense? Why? (comment: -->
This question point of view is to Christian community but your goal says
the point of view from the church)
(See the goal))
a. What is 6th sense in the perspective of Christianity?b. Why hasn’t 6th sense been talked about?
c. What are the controversies of 6th sense in the view of religion? (comment: Not focus (we are not talking about other religions but only focus on Christianity.)
d. How does these controversies affect the faith of the people having the ability?
e. How are these controversies affecting believers?
f. What is Christianity’s responds towards these controversies? (Comment: Jennifer, questions no. c up to f please do the review (there are necessary to be put? Are you sure that there are some controversy about it?)
g. Does the Bible say anything about the ability of 6th sense? If yes, where?
h. What are the appropriate responds/thoughts and actions that Christians should have towards the ability of 6th sense (as an outsider)?
i. What basic knowledge should believers (both the outsiders and the people who have the ability) have so that their faith won’t be affected (in a negative way) by these controversies (comment: ?)?
IDENTIFY THE INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS. (What information do I need? i.e facts, examples, diagrams, table, graphs, experts.)
Step 2. INFORMATION SEEKING STRATEGIES
Consider: accuracy- (complete); related (on the topic); availability (ease of use); appealing, etc. Step 3 LOCATIONS & ACCESS
Consider possible sources. e.g. BOOKS, REFERENCE BOOKS (Encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, other reference materials); AUDIO VISUAL (CD roms, Videos / VCD’S & DVD’S, cassettes, others), PERSONAL INTERVIEWS; INTERNET (record websites used). Indicate which maybe the best sources and why. Locate sources (Where will I find these sources?). List call numbers
1. How am I going to present the data I got from the research through the media of journal? (Primary: books, Encyclopaedia, self-reflection, interview with technician (expert in technology), dictionary, interview with a language teacher; Secondary: Internet, survey to the people close to me)
a. What is a research journal?
b. What are the specifications of a good journal?
c. How do you arrange your journal?
d. What skills are needed to be able to make a good journal?
e. What skills do I have?
f. What compatible software is there for me to journal digitally?
2. What is 6th sense? (Primary: interview with parapsychologist, interview with the people who have the ability, books, Encyclopaedia, dictionary, videos; Secondary: Internet, interview with the people related to the ones who have the ability)
Why? (Primary: Bible, interview with priest/people who studies Christianity Bethel, interview with the people having the ability, interview with parapsychologist/psychologists who studies Christianity Bethel, survey/interview Christian Bethel believers, books; Secondary: survey Christians (Bethel), interview with the people “working” in church, Internet)
a. What is 6th sense in the perspective of Christianity?
b. Why hasn’t 6th sense been talked about?
c. What are the controversies of 6th sense in the view of religion?
d. How does these controversies affect the faith of the people having the ability?
e. How are these controversies affecting believers?
f. What is Christianity’s responds towards these controversies?
g. Does the Bible say anything about the ability of 6th sense? If yes, where?
h. What are the appropriate responds/thoughts and actions that Christians should have towards the ability of 6th sense (as an outsider)?
i. What basic knowledge should believers (both the outsiders and the people who have the ability) have so that their faith won’t be affected (in a negative way) by these controversies?
STEP 4. USE OF INFORMATION NOTE-TAKING SHEET (show references in a bibliography (MLA)
Criterion A. Process Journal
Students should demonstrate information literacy, thinking and reflection.

A journal can be a periodical of a specific field, daily periodical, a daily record of transactions, or a personal daily record of experiences, occurrences, ideas, observations or reflection.
(Research notes for Personal Project 13th & research notes 14th 15th)
There are two types of research journal:
- peer-reviewed
- kept by a researcher when researching
A research journal is a place to record a research process. A peer-reviewed research journal is where articles about a particular field are reviewed before being published and are presented in a concise manner, while a field research journal presents an insight to a particular research the researcher/author is doing.

????????????????????????????????????????????????
specifications of a good research journal:
neat
well organized
easy to read
understandable
(verified by ms terri’s interview via email (????????), internet research notes 14th 15th)
elements included in an entry:
▪ Description of the event/research, experience, new knowledge (most importantly date, & contextual information, such as time, location, participants, focus of study, and anything else)
▪ Feelings/reactions
▪ Analysis of the information: what can I do with this information? What might I keep, use or bear in mind? What might I disregard? this involves re-examining experience in the light of one's intent and existing knowledge etc. It also involves integrating this new knowledge into one's conceptual framework. (ibid: 26-31)
▪ Evaluation of the information (which ones are useful)
▪ Reflection on the information to the research process
▪ Action step/plan/new question developed

HOW ABOUT BIBLIOGRAPHY?
However, basically a research journal can include anything that will help the author to understand better on their research topic later when seen back
http://imet.csus.edu/imet9/250/docs/research_Journal.pdf, http://www.dacc.edu/library/OnlineModules/RschJrnl.htm
Should every entry follow the guideline/have the elements listed above? E.g. if I want to note a supervisor meeting which information I got is only a reminder to submit a certain task on a certain date, should I go through the guidelines of an entry just to write a note that says something is due on some date????????
How detailed should a research journal be? E.g. should there be a record of time taken to do a particular research in the entry?
written every time I do an activity related to my research, even at times when suddenly an idea comes to mind

how to arrange it:
start by explaining about the research topic, question(s) to begin research, a list of keywords
end by a final reflective summary (?),
(ms terri’s interview via email, http://kids.jdrf.org/index.cfm?page_id=109699, research_journal.doc, liblog.rtf, http://www.dacc.edu/library/OnlineModules/RschJrnl.htm
